Description
Commander Shepard entered the facility, contact with it had been lost a few hours ago. She killed a few strange aliens that attacked her on her way through the powered down facility.
She eventually reached the alien artifact at the heart of it, it was glowing with a bright blue light and hovering above a small platform.
"Normandy, this is Shepard" she said as she radioed her ship. "I've located the artifact and secured the per-"
"I don't think so", Kerrigan said, her voice echoed through the darkness as she emerged on a platform above the commander.
"And who the hell are you?" Shepard asked pointing her rifle at the woman.
"I am the Queen of Blades, and those were my zerglings you killed" she said as she looked down at the commander. "This artifact is mine, return to your ship and I will let you escape" Kerrigan explained calmly.
"Funny, I was just about to say the same thing" Shepard said. "I came here for the artifact and no one will stand in my way to get it!"
"Then you shall fall before the swarm!" Kerrigan exclaimed, and used her psionic powers to fling the commander's rifle away! She then leaped off the platform, ready to impale the commander with her wing!
Shepard began firing up her biotics as she quickly activated her omniblade and dodged Kerrigan's attack!
This is my second Shepard from Mass Effect, a renegade, hence the facial scars showing her cybernetics, for any of my watchers who are unfamiliar with the games.
I don't remember where I downloaded the Kerrigan model since it was awhile ago, but I tweaked her textures trying to get the model to look more like she does in Heart of the Swarm (the latest game).
The set is The Artifact for Daz studio, and I got the omniblade from
Kerrigan was posed in XPS/XNALara and then imported to Daz. Shepard is the Genesis figure in Daz. And this was rendered in Daz Studio.
Post work: the biotics on Shepard. Glow on Shepard's scars, Kerrigan, omniblade and artifact. Motion blur. Shep and Kerrigans shadows. Smoothing Kerrigan's face since the textures looked a little weird in Daz after posing her. Smoothing small parts of the background where Daz rendered a few bright pixels
But first of all I started working on their textures, and then their poses and then lighting in Daz. All in all this picture took me about 38-40 hours, and the little story here about 20 minutes
I haven't used motion blur before, and I hope it looks alright. I really felt I needed something like that in this picture since they are supposed to be in motion. But I think it was most difficult to get the motion blur on Shep's armor right, since it's hard to tell black motion blur from shadows (at least for me).

zoomed in this piece looks really good, unfortunately, the 669 × 376 variant (which my computer makes) it all kinda looks weird, (and set as wallpaper also) too bad, would be an epic scene tho, both encountering something new (although Sheppard has a strong will and probably wont be that much affect by psionic stuff) and how would Kerrigan handle biotics (assuming she had never witness it) And in the omni blade. Gigantic zerg worm versus thresher maw.
